EXPERIENCE:

Scott Zimmermann is an associate in the San Francisco office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he is a member of the energy and clean technology practice. He advises new and established companies and their investors on issues affecting the cleantech, energy, and infrastructure industries, including project development, regulatory counseling, corporate formation, and finance.

Scott has supported enterprises and institutions across the globe involved in financing, developing, and regulating energy technology and infrastructure. During law school, he served as a clerk with Commissioner Dian Grueneich at the California Public Utilities Commission, and he was an intern with the General Counsel's office at the Asian Development Bank. Scott also interned with the Natural Resources Defense Council's China Clean Energy Program in Beijing, where he worked to accelerate China's transition to technologies that mitigate the impacts of coal.

Scott is a licensed professional engineer and worked in the energy industry for eight years prior to law school. He was a process engineer for Fluor Corporation, where he was involved in the design and construction of international oil and gas facilities. Subsequently, Scott led the product development team at a start-up software company, developing solutions to improve the design, operation, and maintenance of large energy facilities.

Scott has extensive international experience, and his practice at the firm continues to focus on the Asia market.
