With President Obama and congressional leaders promising to lead the way to a future of clean energy, green jobs, and carbon constraints, cleantech has been one of the hottest issues in Washington, DC this year. More than $80 billion in funding has been directed to the clean energy space through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and other federal programs. Climate change legislation was adopted by the House and currently is pending before the Senate. The 2010 federal agenda includes more clean energy funding, tax incentives and other federal supports, loan guarantees, and legislation relating to transportation, climate change, and energy. Clearly, cleantech is at a crossroads.
