WSGR Honored with Bay Area Legal Aid's "Partner of the Year" Award

On November 7, 2012, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati was honored with Bay Area Legal Aid's "Law Firm Pro Bono Leadership 2011: Sustained Partner of the Year" award for its pro bono work in connection with domestic violence matters. The award was presented at the nonprofit organization's Second Annual Pro Bono Recognition Event, which was held at WSGR's Palo Alto office.

At the event, Ramon Arias, Bay Area Legal Aid's executive director, provided an overview of the organization and its pro bono program, and Genevieve Richardson, Bay Area Legal Aid's director of pro bono activities, presented the award to Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Associates Corina Cacovean, Luke Liss, and David Nefouse, who have helped to manage all of the firm's Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) cases, accepted the award on WSGR's behalf. Mark Parnes and Gail McFall also were in attendance.

Since 2000, the WSGR Foundation has provided significant financial support to Bay Area Legal Aid, a nonprofit civil legal services firm that provides free legal assistance to low-income Bay Area residents. In addition, the firm partners with Bay Area Legal Aid on a variety of matters in connection with its Domestic Violence Prevention Project. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati has handled more than 30 VAWA matters with Bay Area Legal Aid since the program's inception.
