Firm Recognized with "Partner in Justice Award" for Pro Bono Human Rights Work

On May 10, 2012, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati was presented with The Center for Justice & Accountability's (CJA's) 2012 "Partner in Justice Award" for its demonstrated commitment to human rights as reflected in its recent pro bono work. The organization specifically noted the firm's service as co-counsel in the Cabello v. Fernandez Larios case, which marked the first jury verdict for crimes against humanity in the United States, as well as its service as co-counsel in Cabrera v. Jiménez Naranjo, a case that seeks to bring a Colombian paramilitary chief and drug trafficker to justice for torture, extrajudicial killing, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.

Partner Leo Cunningham accepted the award on the firm's behalf at CJA's annual dinner. Held in San Francisco, the event brought together leading international human rights lawyers, advocates, survivors, clients, and supporters to celebrate important victories secured by CJA in efforts to hold high-ranking human rights abusers accountable.

In addition to Leo, the WSGR attorneys who have partnered with CJA to bring human rights abusers to justice include Lee-Anne Mulholland and Nicole Healy.

The Center for Justice & Accountability is an international human rights organization dedicated to deterring torture and other severe human rights abuses around the world and advancing the rights of survivors to seek truth, justice, and redress.
