Transphorm Secures Series E Financing

On October 1, 2012, energy efficiency technology company Transphorm announced that it has raised a $35 million Series E financing led by Innovation Network Corporation of Japan (INCJ) and Nihon Inter Electronics Company (NIEC), with participation from existing venture investors Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Foundation Capital, Google Ventures, Quantum Strategic Partners (a private investment fund managed by Soros Fund Management), Lux Capital, and Bright Capital. Transphorm, which is redefining energy efficiency with efficient and compact power conversion technology using high voltage GaN, was represented by Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in the financing. The Series E brings the total capital Transphorm has raised from all rounds to $104 million.

The Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati team that represented Transphorm in the financing includes Mark Bertelsen, Erika Muhl, Matt Tolland, and Michael Garvey.
