COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Compensation: Through 30 years of growth, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati has maintained a basic compensation philosophy: reward attorneys based on merit and performance. It is our intent to deliver a merit-based compensation program that is competitive with our market, rewards our top performers with the highest pay, and shares the firm's success. To that end, in addition to a competitive annual base salary, merit bonuses are awarded at year-end to recognize the individual contributions and performance of attorneys, as well as reflect the firm's financial performance. To encourage retention and commitment to our clients' success, the firm takes a position in an annual investment fund tied to client activities, and the proceeds from any gains distributed are awarded as bonuses to attorneys who were on board at the time of the initial investment.
Benefits: In addition to a professional and challenging work environment, the firm is committed to providing a highly competitive and comprehensive benefits package with plans that assist employees in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, achieving financial security, and addressing work and family needs.

Flexibility
Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati supports associates who wish to continue their pursuit of a partnership position and their relationship with the firm while reducing their work schedule to accommodate the demands of caring for family. Under our Part-Time Policy, associates, with the agreement of their practice group leader(s), may modify their schedules to work 60 percent or more of full-time while remaining on partnership track. The policy enables us to retain highly skilled, talented, and motivated lawyers; benefit from our ongoing investment in these attorneys; and preserve valuable client and other relationships inside and outside the firm. The policy also acknowledges and reinforces the value we place on the importance of family.
We are at the forefront of the legal industry in having a formal part-time policy for our partners in addition to a partnership-track part-time policy for our associates. Our part-time policies provide increased work-hours flexibility and ensure equitable treatment in career development and compensation.
In addition to the firm's formalized part-time policies, we also offer paid time-off for new parents and back-up child care. We support career flexibility by facilitating smooth transfers among practice groups and offices, as well as utilizing technology to telecommute on an occasional basis.
