Andrea Agathoklis Murino is a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Her practice focuses on a broad spectrum of antitrust matters, including the antitrust elements of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, distribution and intellectual property arrangements, and other kinds of business conduct. She specializes in representing clients before the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, state attorneys general, and international competition law enforcement agencies. Andrea has extensive litigation experience, including serving as a senior member of a trial team that defended a consummated merger in federal court. She also provides advice to trade associations regarding compliance with antitrust laws and related matters. Her clients include companies in the high-technology, computer hardware and software, telecommunications, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, energy, retail, and consumer products industries.

Andrea joined the firm in January 2012 after serving as counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust at the U.S. Department of Justice. While at the Antitrust Division, she advised the Assistant Attorney General and the Deputy Assistant Attorneys General on criminal and civil enforcement matters. From 2006 to 2009, Andrea served as an attorney advisor to former Chairman and Commissioner William E. Kovacic at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, providing guidance on enforcement recommendations from the Bureau of Competition and the Bureau of Consumer Protection. Prior to and in between her government service, Andrea worked in the antitrust, competition, and trade practice group of a major international law firm.

Andrea is active in the American Bar Association's Section of Antitrust Law, serving as vice chair of the Programs and Teleseminars Committee and the Clayton Act at 100 Symposium. She previously served as vice chair of the 2013 Fall Forum, the 2013 Merger Retrospective Symposium, and the 2012 Presidential Transition Report Task Force. For eight years, she also served an adjunct professor of legal research and writing at George Washington University Law School.
